This is one of my favorite pictures that I have taken of Taylor, her huge smile and bright eyes just make me smile. I'm sure glad i got this picture it shows her mouth full of teeth! Well one of these teeth we will never see again, she'll always be missing a tooth (well until her adult teeth come in). Now everytime i look at this picture I just want to cry! It reminds me of the terrible week we've had this past week. It started off last Thursday night. Jimmy had just got home. We were getting dinner ready and relaxing. Taylor was right in front of us playing and jumping around being her usual silly self , she likes to put pillows on the floor and stand on them and try to jump, well this particular time the pillow slid out from under her and she fell forward hitting her mouth on a wooden foot rest. I ran over to her to find a mouth full of blood and her tooth pushed forward just hanging there! We took her to the ER(not nowing where else to go) and they told us that her tooth had popped back into place and that it might fall out but it might be ok too. So we went home with a little hope that her tooth might be saved! well two days later... we went to run some errands. We went to Wal-mart to pick up a few things and while we were in the deoderant isle Taylor started standing up in the cart trying to reach the deoderant. i sat her back down in the cart and told her not to stand up again (silly me thinking she would actually listen to me!) I turned back to grab some deoderant off the shelf and then turned back toward the cart just in time to see Taylor flipping over the edge of the cart FACE FIRST!! I tried so hard to catch her but couldn't, luckily i did manage to at least break her fall a bit, she landed on her stomach and hit her face! We picked her up and realized the tooth had popped right out onto the floor. She was screaming and bleeding everywhere! And all i could do was sit on the floor and cry! I felt like THE worst mom in the world! Why wasn't i paying better attention to her? Why didn't i strap her in? I felt awful and still do! But there's nothing we can do now except learn from our mistakes and never let her sit in a cart again without being strapped in, no matter how much she cries! Anyway this story will most likely haunt me for the rest of my life! :) But Taylor seems to be ok even with a missing tooth. She's happy and still as active as ever and still has a big smile minus one tooth! I guess it could have been worse!Thursday, April 22, 2010

Are we there yet?!
Well, It's down to just 2 more weeks of Jimmy's final internship! Then we have a week of vacation time (i told Jimmy he can't even think about anything school related during that week, he really needs a break!) and then we are headed back to the mainland to start another chapter in our lives! It's all so exciting and scary at the same time!
This past week and 1/2 to 2 weeks has been a little crazy and just frustrating, to the point that i decided i am ready to go home, don't get me wrong...i have really enjoyed Hawaii, it's been an incredible experience and opportunity for our little family and i'm grateful we were able to come but i think we're ready for a bit more stability in our lives. The frustrations have come from Jimmy not being able to find many jobs to interview with because we are in Hawaii and pretty much everyone wants to meet with him right away, which isn't possible. Then i have been dealing with kidney stones and Taylor got pretty sick with an ear infection. I think the thing that put me over the top was Taylor being sick! She's had ear infections before but this one really hit her hard! The Saturday before easter she had a fever of 102 (she's NEVER had a fever before) we took her to the Dr. and they gave her amoxicillin (which she ended up being allergic to). We did everything we could think of to get her fever to break, finally after the 3rd day after a blessing and lots of prayers and crying (from mommy and Taylor) and sleepless nights her fever broke! It took awhile for her to get back to herself but i finally have my active, happy little girl back! :) In all of the stress and sickness though we have found opportunities to smile and have some fun!
Anyway, the purpose of that long story was to explain why i'm ready to GO HOME!!!

There was an easter egg hunt on saturday at Gunstock Ranch,
this was before we realized she was sick, now i feel bad for taking
her!
She had fun though and caught on to the picking up eggs and
putting them in your bucket idea!
she found 5 eggs!

AND.....Ride a horse!
After her nap that day is when we realized she was sick! :(
Poor baby!
But even with being sick, she was still trying to be her silly self!
when she was feeling a bit better we took her to the Temple for
fresh air. she loves coming here to see all the flowers and Jesus!
she's such a social butterfly! she saw this little girl sitting there
and went and sat by her and "talked" to her!
After we found out she was allergic to amoxicillin and they gave
her a shot at the hospital daddy felt bad and bought her a kids meal
and a juice.
She doesn't go anywhere without eeyore, and she definitely won't
sleep without him!

she's obviously feeling better! She was playing with this plastic
eggs in the tub and trying to stack them inside of eachother one
shot off and flew across the tub, she started laughing and said "fuh'ee"

An update on our family!
Well Jimmy is now a little over half- way done with is final internship! He has about 3 1/2 weeks left. Then we'll have about a week and a half left here to just enjoy ourselves, relax and see all the sites we've been wanting to... it'll be our little vacation before we head back to Utah and Jimmy starts hitting the books hard studying for the boards. It's crazy to think there is finally an end in sight with Jimmy's schooling, not only is it in sight we've nearly crossed the finish line! And with that comes so many feelings, we're excited, nervous, relieved, anxious all at the same time. Jimmy has really been stressing out and feeling the pressure lately because yes, school is almost over but now he has to find a job. He's been feeling really overwhelmed and under qualified lately, but i know he can do it. He is very smart and knows his stuff, even if he doesn't think so. He also is very good with people which is an important quality in his field. I know he'll do great but if you all could send up a few prayers for him we would greatly appreciate it!!
In other news; i am now 24 weeks pregnant but feel like I'm 34. The aches and pains have started early with this one but I'm happy! I'm feeling a lot better now, i only get a little nauseous in the evenings sometimes. And the baby seems to be doing just fine too. He's constantly moving around doing flips and such. It's kind of funny and annoying but if Taylor wakes up crying in the middle of the night (we sleep in the same room right now) he hears her and wakes up too but usually she goes back to sleep before he does which means I'm up for awhile too! But I'm grateful to feel those movements!
Taylor is doing great, she's getting so big in size and personality! We've had a few struggles lately trying to figure out the best way to discipline her. You know before you have kids you think you have it all figured out, "this is how we will handle everything" but then you very quickly find out after having kids that you have nothing figured out! Each child is different and they really do come with their own personalities. Discipline tactics that work on one won't necessarily work on another! So that's where we are right now trying to figure out what will work with this very active, very strong willed but loving, sweet and silly little girl of ours! I know we'll figure it out, but sometimes it does try your patience!
Well enough rambleing now to the stuff that Grandmas LOVE......PICTURES!!!

She's growning up so fast!
Everyday i am amazed at how fast Taylor is growing up, sometimes i just want it to slow down, but i do enjoy watching her learn and discover new things and watching her little personality continue to develop. She is 16 months old now, she keeps us on our toes and laughing! The other day she opened a cupboard where there are some drinks and pulled out a rootbeer (she has only ever had a few sips of soda before) she looked at me and said "I want". I told her she didn't need that, and she kept insisting that she wanted it! Luckily i was able to distract her with something else! She has always been a "jabber box" but lately she has been saying a lot of actual words. Everyday she says to me "side" "beets" which is her asking me to take her outside and to the beach. Anytime she hears an airplane or helicopter she says "gook" "aipane". And now because she is learning to say so many words Jimmy trys to teach her new words and phrases everyday! The other day we were in the car and a Black Eyed Peas song came on the radio (Hawaii doesn't have very many good radio stations so you take what you can get) in this song it repeats the words i'mma be, i'mma be (mom that's supposed to be i'm gonna be) Jimmy has now taught Taylor that part of the song so she repeats "i be, i be". Such a fun stage!

Nana gave Taylor this dress. Taylor is such a girl she loves
clothes and necklaces and anything girly. On sunday she
grabbed onto my dress and said "peety"
She LOVES to just get out and run!

she loves flowers anytime she sees on, real or fake, she says
"fowie" which is flower and smells them!
we bought this dress for her at the swap meet, it's actually
suppose to cover her chest ;) but she prefers to wear it this way!!!

Uncle David came for a visit!
Jimmy's youngest brother David came for a visit over his spring break. We've really enjoyed having him here although it may not have been the vacation he was expecting! Taylor loves her Uncle David and rarely let him out of her sight. While he was here we went to the beach a few times, on saturday we went to the swap meet (which is the place to go for great inexpensive souveniers), later on that afternoon we went to the north shore to Sunset Beach, this time of year that's where the best surfing is! The waves were great, Jimmy and David took the boogie boards and had a blast! By the end of the day we were all completely worn out. On monday me, David and Taylor (Jimmy had to work)went to the Dole Plantation, we rode the pineapple express and had a very yummy Dole Whip (pineapple icecream). On Tuesday we went to the Polynesian Cultural Center, which is just across the street from where we are staying, we took a tour, went to a luau and to an amazing show later that evening (the fire dancers where the best!) Anyway here are a few pictures from the week, i wish i would have taken more especially at the PCC but it's kind of difficult when you have a toddler who is tired and cranky (Taylor has actually done really well concidering her entire schedule has been disrupted this whole week!)
