We made it to Hawaii!!!

Ok, now that we have had a chance to settle in i should probably take a few minutes to update our blog! Our flight from Pheonix to Honolulu left at 8:05 a.m. on Saturday February 27th and was scheduled to arrive in Honolulu 6 1/2 hours later at 11:35 a.m. Hawaii time. Everything went as scheduled and we were off in no time, little did we know we were heading right toward a tsunami warning! Before we landed in Honolulu we had heard that we were landing just as the tsunami was suppose to hit, we didn't really know what to expect! As we landed at got of the plane the place just seemed to be deserted the only people around were passengers and some security gaurds. We didn't know what was going on, would we be able to get a rental car at that point? If so, would we be able to make it to the other side of the island to where we were staying? If so, how do we get there? So in order to figure things out Jimmy was going to try to plug in the computer and find any info that he could. I thought i would help out by taking Taylor and go and find the baggage claim, which i assumed was just around the corner or down an escalator or something. HA! i was very wrong! I don't know how many of you have been to the Honolulu airport before but there was a reason why there were shuttles right out the door as you get off the plane! I probably walked for a good 15 minutes or so! Anyway i finally found the baggage claim but there was no luggage, the belts weren't even turning! Apparently because of the tsunami warning they had sent most everyone home and it was taking a lot longer to unload the planes! So then i thought now that i know where the baggage claim is i can just go and get Jimmy and bring him back with me, so i was preparing myself for the long trek back to the terminals. Well apparently i had to go back through the security gates..... just then i realized Jimmy had my I.D., they wouldn't let me through! You're probably thinking well why don't you just call Jimmy and have him meet you at the baggage claim... well his phone was dead. i didn't know what to do, Jimmy would be waiting for me to come back and would be waiting forever! I just wanted to cry! Then i thought ok, what are you suppose to do when you are lost...stay in one place right? ok so that's what i'll do. so i headed back to the baggage claim. i got off the elevator and turned the corner to the baggage claim and there was Jimmy! My almost tears of frustration suddenly turned to almost tears of relief! From there we finally found our luggage then headed to the shuttle do go and get our rental car. At the car rental place there were slim pickin's so we lucked out with a PT cruiser (Jimmy's dream car :)) I'll post pictures of the beauty soon! Anyway to make a long story a little longer we finally got a hold of the people that we are going to be staying with ( they are wonderful by the way! they are the nicest couple, and are letting us stay for FREE!!! i'll write a little more about them and the place we are staying in a later post) and got directions to their place, we finally made it and have been working on getting settled in and adjusted to the time difference. We're loving it! And can't wait to post lots of pictures for you all to see!!!
